PIXIE Works with DAIKIN™ ducted reverse cycle Air Conditioning System with Zone Control and with DAIKIN™ Split systems ( for users who are able to configure thier existing units as per the information below)
🌟
LAUNCHING OCTOBER 2025
PIXIE is launching 2 new native PIXIE devices for DAIKIN™ – A DAIKIN™ Ducted AC Controller and Zone Controller.
The PIXIE Zone Controller works with any 24V AC dampers on the market, including those used with DAIKIN™ Ducted Air Conditioning Systems
More details to follow soon!
What About DAIKIN™ Split Systems #
There are some market reports that new SPLT DAIKIN™ systems using specific Wi-Fi modules with updated firmware – now has ECHONET Lite enabled, meaning that you can control your DAIKIN™ Split Systems using the same PIXIE interface used to interface successfully with Mitsubishi Electric.
⚠️
What is ECHONET Lite?Echonet Lite is an international home automation control communication protocol standard and is available only on the MAC-588IF-E / MAC-578IF-E / MAC-568IF-E Wi-Fi Interface from Mitsubishi Electric (The Daikin™ WiFi interface version has a different part number but uses the same protocol).
The Echonet Lite specification, in particular, is a communication protocol compatible with the now ubiquitous Internet. It is designed for ease of use and is simpler than the Echonet specification. The Echonet Lite specification is already compatible with more than 100 types of devices
What this all means is that using what PIXIE PLUS has now with the ECHONET interface, users have been able to successfully scan and control DAIKIN™ system with these specific models, and WiFi interfaces.
Integrating Daikin™ Split Systems with PIXIE via ECHONET Lite #
Seeing Daikin™ splits appear in PIXIE PLUS → New Air Con Scan → Air-Con?
That usually means the Daikin™ Wi-Fi adaptor on your network is exposing ECHONET Lite, Japan’s home-automation standard that PIXIE already supports.
❗
Limitations & caveats
No official AU announcement: Daikin™ AU doesn’t publish ECHONET Lite claims for BRP072C42(-1). Functionality may exist but is undocumented locally. Daikin Australia
White-lists are JP-centric: Daikin™ Japan’s ECHONET Lite “white list” is authoritative for JP models/adaptors and is updated periodically; it does not guarantee every combination sold in AU. ac.daikin.co.jp
Network visibility required: ECHONET Lite discovery/control happens on the local network (port 3610). Client isolation, VLANs, or firewall rules can block discovery. echonet.jp
The short version #
Daikin™ Japan publishes official pages confirming ECHONET Lite support for room air-cons (split systems) with specific Wi-Fi/LAN adaptors and firmware. 2023+ models required adaptor firmware updates to meet AIF certification.
ac.daikin.co.jp
ECHONET Lite devices announce themselves on the local network, typically using UDP/TCP port 3610, which is how PIXIE PLUS can discover them.
echonet.jp
Daikin™ Australia product pages for BRP072C42(-1) describe app/remote control, but do not mention ECHONET Lite publicly. So AU support is undocumented rather than disproven.
Field reports show discovery works when the adaptor firmware is current.

How PIXIE May Integrate with DAIKIN™ Split Systems #
PIXIE’s Mitsubishi-class interface speaks ECHONET Lite (Home Air Conditioner class 0x0130). If a Daikin™ unit exposes ECHONET Lite on your LAN, PIXIE can discover and control it (power, mode, setpoint, etc.) via the same standard.
What this all means is that using what PIXIE PLUS has now with the ECHONET interface, users have been able to successfully scan and control DAIKIN™ system with these specific models, and WiFi interfaces AND PIXIE PLUS ( including the PIXIE Gateway)
DAIKIN™ Adaptor Required #
AU common adaptor: BRP072C42 / BRP072C42-1
- – If your site has this adaptor and it’s on current FW, try a PIXIE Air-Con scan
- – AU literature doesn’t claim ECHONET Lite, but units have been discovered by PIXIE, consistent with ECHONET Lite exposure on LAN after FW updates. Validate in the field. Daikin AU website
On-site validation (5 minutes) #
1) Update the Daikin™ adaptor firmware using the Daikin™ Mobile Controller / Daikin™ Smart App. Daikin™ Japan notes a firmware update requirement for 2023 models to align with AIF certification. ac.daikin.co.jp
2) PIXIE PLUS → New Scan → Air-Con. If the Daikin™ unit appears, PIXIE has detected ECHONET Lite.
3) (Optional tech check) On the LAN, ECHONET Lite nodes typically listen on port 3610 (UDP/TCP). Discovery and control traffic conform to the spec.
echonet.jp
4) Control test: Toggle power and nudge setpoint ±1–2 °C. Confirm the indoor unit responds.
What if it doesn’t show? #
1) Confirm the adaptor model (e.g., BRP072C42-1) and firmware are up to date in the Daikin™ app.
Daikin Thailand
2) Power-cycle the adaptor and rescan.
3) Record the indoor unit model, adaptor model, firmware version, and PIXIE PLUS app version. Share with PIXIE Support so we can update our Known-Good list.
What Other AC Does PIXIE Work With? #
PIXIE currently integrates with Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning systems, that support article can be found below.
This is a fully integrated approach, not just running an App on an AC Android touch panel, its deeply integrated into the PIXIE ecosystem for sophisticated control scenarios.
