This is possible using any PIXIE sensor, a PIXIE smart timer switch (STS600BTAM) and use of the MASTERLINK function in the PIXIE App.
3 Simple Steps #
Install the PIXIE sensor with a hard Active and Neutral but do NOT connect the switchwire to the sensor.
Next install the PIXIE Smart Timer Switch to the load to be controlled – note the maximum load capacity of this device as it is different to the Sensors.
Finally in the PIXIE app, scan and add both the sensor and the STS600BTAM into the home, navigate into the sensor, select the 3 little dots in the top right hand corner and select EDIT.
Note if you don’t intend to use the App hereafter this is not an issue as once it is setup it will continue to work without the App ‘present’
Setting up the Sensor & Masterlink #
You will need to EDIT the 2 products to make this work – the STS600BTAM smart timer switch and the Sensor.
- 1.SENSOR: Set the holding time on the PIXIE smart sensor a short duration, e.g. 20 seconds
- 2. SMART TIMER SWITCH: Set the timer duration on the PIXIE timer switch to the desired duration, e.g. 2 hours
- 3. SENSOR: Enable Masterlink function on the PIXIE smart sensor ( a firmware update may be needed and the App will prompt you if necessary)
- 4. SENSOR: In the Masterlink setting, set as:
- ⇒ if the sensor is on, then turn the timer switch as Override on;
- ⇒ if the sensor is off, then turn the timer switch as Timer on.
How to have an override button on the wall (need to use PIXIE scenes) #
- 1. Install a PIXIE multifunction control SMF/BTAS nearby
- 2. Create a scene named OVERRIDE ON, action will be set the sensor to its own override on (switch on), and set the timer switch to its own override on
- 3. Create another scene named AUTO MODE, action will be set the sensor back to its own auto sensor mode, and set the timer switch to turn off
- 4. Pair the scenes to the PIXIE multifunction control.
- Would recommend assigning AUTO MODE to single click, and OVERRIDE ON to double click. But of course it’s up to the customer’s preference
