PIXIE wins Best Lighting Control System. The award belongs to the trade.
Lighting Council Australia has named PIXIE the winner of Best Lighting Control System at the 2026 Lighting Industry Excellence Awards.
The judges were looking at the system as a whole, and the part of PIXIE that makes it a system is you. A control platform that needs a specialist programmer never reaches the homes that want it, so the thing being recognised here is a system any qualified electrician can install, scan and hand over on the same day.
A national award is a sales tool you can use tomorrow.
When a customer asks why they should let you put a control system in their house rather than buy a few smart globes, you now have an answer that does not depend on your word alone. The national lighting industry body judged PIXIE the best lighting control system in the country, and you are the person who installs it.
Use it in three places: on the quote, where it justifies specifying a system rather than a product; on site, where it answers the comparison with retail smart gear; and with builders and developers, where an industry award carries more weight than a brochure.
Capability at the top of the market, delivered the way you already work.
Cabled control systems do a fine job for the small number of projects that can carry the cable, the programmer and the price. Retail smart products sell on price and leave the customer with parts rather than a system. PIXIE sits in the middle on purpose: scheduling, dimming and scene control across lighting, fans, blinds and climate, using standard wiring practices and app based setup, with nothing new for you to learn.
That is what democratising lighting control means in practice. We removed the specialist from the install, the fee from the training, and the guesswork from the design, which puts the work, and the margin, back in your hands.
Worth knowing what the judges actually weighed up: the system's capability, and how far it has come. Ten years of development has taken PIXIE from a dimmer and a switch to third generation mechs covering every major dimming protocol, trailing edge, DALI2, 0-10V and PWM for strip, plus sensors, timers, relay, blind, curtain and garage control, smart outlets, ceiling fans, and ducted air conditioning and zoning through CLIMATIQ. Same wiring, same app, same afternoon.
Install. Scan. PIXIE. If you can wire a switch, you can wire a system.
Get certified, get designing, get paid for the system.
PIXIE certification is free, takes about three hours online, and finishes with a starter kit in your hands. Send us a set of plans and we will design the system for you at no cost.
